Is CNN Saying Palin Is A Nazi?

Well CNN certainly has some bright people to work for them… and this is the best photo they could come up with for their front page?

She did give one heck of a speech last night… a bunch of empty rhetoric but that’s all she needed to do. Get through the night without any major mistakes which she did although if you are a conservative you have to be a little worried about her attacking the media and bringing her children into the spotlight. They are already digging up details on her past and now she has them pissed.

Also with her children… it’s okay to talk about her son since he’s going to fight in Iraq but her daughter who is having a baby is completely off-limits. Here is news for you: if one is fair game, everyone is fair game.

Proud To Be An American Looks Like This…

This is what it means to be a Proud American in the 21st Century… from Berlin, Germany no less.

I haven’t read any early estimates on the number of people that showed up but it certainly looks like one of the better speeches any Presidential nominee or Senator has ever given abroad. (How many have actually given one abroad? I don’t have an answer for that.)

“He is one of those politicians who reaches parts other politicians don’t reach,” Oakley said. “After the unpopularity of George W. Bush, the world is waiting to love America again, and many see in Obama, with his youth and his optimism, somebody who can bring that about.” – Robin Oakley, CNN’s European political editor on Obama enjoying his popularity overseas.

The CNN quote in this post can be referred back to here: Obama uses Berlin symbolism to reunite ‘old allies’

State of Things – Lara Logan

So I finally got around to watching this Daily Show clip that my friend Evan wrote over on QuackQuack. He doesn’t update as often but when he does put up a clip or comic, it’s usually pretty good. Click the link up there or visit him from the Blogroll on the right.

Lara Logan is currently the Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for CBS News and she speaks quite frankly on the issue of war and how it is covered, really a great piece by Jon Stewart who lets her speak. For all the people who try to dismiss the show as just a comedy show, you still get the greatest interviews because no one on the major networks would have enough guts to speak like this on their networks.

Here is another clip where she just owns the CNN network.

McCain: Back To Prohibition!

In what has to be the greatest slip of the tounge of the 2008 Presidential Elections – or possibly in the history of Presidential Elections in the United States, John McCain vowed “to veto every single beer.”

“I will use the veto as needed. I will veto every single beer — bill with earmarks,” he said, as rumblings from the crowd could be heard. “And every single bill that we have come across my desk I will make them famous. I will veto them, you will know their names.”

CNN has the video here. Maybe the tough times of the economy and his failing numbers within his own party and failure to capitalize on a divided Democratic Primary process is getting to him that alcohol is the only thing on his mind.
