Woot Shirts

Shirt.Woot started off with a relative bang where there was a sustained period of excellent shirts but then came the inevitable dull stretch. However, the past month or so has been rather excellent with their derby and great shirt selections.

From what I remember, I have made 5 purchases from Shirt.Woot but only 3 were for myself: Do The Math, Army In My Pocket and A Peculiar Discovery (the first row in the gallery below). I made my first purchase back on 2/22/08 which followed an additional 4 purchases in the next 8 months but the 5th only came last month with the penguins.

Even with those purchases, there were two recent shirts that I am quite disappointed I missed the opportunity to purchase at regular price (even though they are still available at a slightly higher price). Those two shouldn’t surprise anyone who knows me knows pretty well as I was a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan growing up (and still am) and have played a disturbing amount of Mario Kart with my roommates in the past year.

The two shirts are titled The Epic Begins and School in the lower part of the gallery are still available for a relatively cheap price of $15 if you are interested in buying for yourself or gifting me.

AngryBrownGuy Items For Sale

I know a couple of people asked about supporting the blog by purchasing something to offset the costs. Well I think the answer to that is through the ways of CafePress. I have set up an AngryBrownGuy Shop over there  to view items varying from t-shirts to sweatshirts, bags to bears, stickers to calendars.

Personally the two items that I think came out superbly were the t-shirt and even the teddy bear both of which are priced at only $20.

Other items that stand out would be the hooded sweatshirt at $30 or simple wall calendar for 2009 at only $10.

Woot T-Shirt Contest

So there is a Shirt.Woot contest that is going on until Monday about wearing a Woot Shirt in a country that is not United States and then submitting the picture. Much to my delight as I will be going to Canada on Thursday and now I will be taking my two shirts “Army In My Pocket” and “Do The Math” but I am still not sure what kind of picture to take.

Any ideas?

Anyways, here is a mini description about the contest with a link above.

You may or may not have known that our t-shirt site, Shirt.Woot, now ships to 45 countries whose residents are otherwise unable to partake of the Woot empire’s offerings. In any case, you know it now. But frankly, we worry a little about sending our “fabric children” out into the great big world. We’d feel so much better if they’d get in touch with us and let us know they’re alright. Your challenge this week:

Show us a Woot tee in its new home in one of the countries on this list.

Any Woot tee, past or present, is fair game – here’s a list, with artwork. Obviously, the funnier the situation and the connection to the country in question, the better. And we shouldn’t need to tell you this, but we will: defamatory ethnic and racial stereotypes will get you nowhere.

Do The Math

This shirt courtesy of Woot Shirt. Great for any math major that you might know 😛

So I says everybody knows a year is three hundred and sixty-five days, and this guy—this little egghead pencilneck dweeb—he says no it isn’t. And I says of course it is, and he says naw, it isn’t. And I says OK, genius, prove it.

And he starts in with this Chinese algebra where I don’t know what he’s talking about. He’s multiplyin’ this times that. He’s carryin’ the two. He’s got letters and numbers and I don’t know what all in there. And finally I show him the thing you do with your knuckles, right?

No, not the calendar trick. What calendar trick? I just mean I slugged him in the nose.

This shirt was designed by: Iambusyeating, who’s given hope to all those lurkers who sit on the sidelines and decline to enter the Derby on the grounds that a first-timer doesn’t stand a chance. In your face, conventional wisdom!

Wear this shirt: to the upcoming Academic Olympics, or Quiz Bowl, or Space Camp, or Star Trek Convention, or at the center of that circle of jocks that are kicking you.

Don’t wear this shirt: to the Vatican. Ask Galileo how that’ll turn out.

This shirt tells the world: “As a matter of fact, I am free on Friday night.”

We call this color: The Square Root Of Navy Blue Times Navy Blue
