So this is just an amazing story out of my high school of roughly 140 kids where they have collected over 14,000 lbs. of food for M.C.F.O.O.D.S., the Middlesex County emergency food network to help 60 different food pantries and soup kitchens all across Middlesex County.
I have heard there were some incentives academically but nothing is confirmed so I won’t comment on that yet but I think anything you do to urge kids to raise more to help the needy is a worthwhile cause in my mind.
If anyone from the Academy has any more details on this, feel free to comment or let me know and I’ll put it up here and credit you of course.
140-something kids did that. What has your high school done? I don’t care, I’m not ashamed to say that I went to the Middlesex County Academy for Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies.

Methner on TV!!!! Maybe I'll visit when I get home. Ms. Simon and Wynant (sp) still there? Is the soccer team still good, or has it gone to shit now that all the Abuwalas and Prasads have graduated. Also, have you noticed your tag cloud? How is McCain bigger than the Yanks. You must immediately make Yankees posts.
One of the incentives to donate all the food was that the winning class would not have Ms. Simon's summer assignments and Paterno agreed to drop the lowest test grade. Basically everyone is there except Pfeffer who is with NJEA and we've gone through another 2 science teachers since Ferrara. The soccer team won the division the year before this one (that was with Rishi and Varesh) but the current team just finished second place in an indoor league last month. I am in the middle of writing a Yankee post cause of the ridiculous ticket prices while still having seats available for opening day.
Lol. I've read about the ticket prices. Sounds like the Science teacher position has fallen to the same curse as Defense against the Dark Arts. I knew ferrara was a dark wizard. It would explain his lack of knowledge about science. I remember him saying once that people of different races are actually different species. I also remember Hector drinking a whole bottle of vanilla extract. sigh
Yeah my school has a food drive every year. This year we collected 53 big boxes of food for the food bank in Toronto
